Yorkshire Dales 2018 - Simply beautiful when mother nature allows!
This year we had 2 teams qualifying for their Silver and Gold expedition. Our base for the week was Broadrake in Chapel-le-Dale. the above photo was taken early one morning in front of the bunkhouse. It is fair to say that the weather for most of the time was less than ideal. The challenge that the students from Y12 and Y13 took on was significant. The life skills they developed during the week will most definitely be an asset. The determination, team work and resilience that was needed was beyond the normal remit of our expeditions. We were and are so very proud of the students that took part.

Next... exped time!
Wednesday 19th - Friday 21st September 2018
Over the next 3 days the Silver teams completed their qualification expedition in some awful weather. The gold teams managed Pen-y-ghent (694m) summit on their final day of expeds but had to adopt their escape plans on day 2 so were unable to do Ingleborough summit due to visability and strong winds. Overall all of the groups did extremely well and had an adventure.
Off we go Silver are on the way to their drop off point. |
